Forever

I watched you last night,

Glowing white with rage

Ignoring me religiously,

As we tried to engage,

But ended up half cut

And attempting to assuage,

Our own insecurites,

 Whilst digging our own graves.

You are so beautiful,

A permanent sense of wonder,

I will not live without you,

As through the days I blunder

Because I know you’re worried about me,

You think I am having real doubts.

Maybe I’m feeling the pressure?

Maybe this love I’ll flout?

Well I know I’m a little ropey,

A little frayed around the edges

I come from a dark place my love,

Filled with breakdowns and broken pledges.

When I watch you across the dance floor

When I see you on the street

I know there is no other path I need,

Because you make my life complete.

I said there is only one girl for me,

And I wasn’t trying to be clever

I didn’t lie and I don’t take it back

You are my one forever.

Its you who makes life worth it

its you who makes me believe

That after August 22

Through paradise we’ll breeze.
